Proud Mama Monday 2/4/13

After the day I had with the boys today, it's hard to write a "Proud Mama Monday" post. But it's days like these where it's most important to write them. Despite their naughtiness, I am still proud of who they are.

Jordan can now sing his ABCs all the way through. He can also sing along to "Jesus Loves Me"
Jordan has been practicing songs with the church choir and was able to get up front and sing with them for the first time on January 27th. He did great!

Jacob has practiced writing some letters and did a great job writing H, C, J, and G the other night. I'd like to work on writing his name this week.

Silly Saturday 4/7/12

Last Sunday Jake sang in church again. My parents, who normally don't attend our church, came to see him. When Jake walked in and saw his Papa, he stopped singing and said "WHAT THE HECK!?!"

He also had a few outbursts during the church sermon that were way funnier than they will be if I write them out. The pastor was talking about the simplicity of Christ and how he did not really own anything. He said "...and he rode into town on a borrowed donkey" to which Jake yelled "A BORROWED DONKEY!?" Then later the pastor said something about "jokers" and my batman obsessed son yelled "THE JOKER?!" Sigh. Not to mention as they were singing in the second service, after everyone put down their palms, there was my kid waving his like his little life depended on it. He cracks me up!

Proud Mama Monday 3/19/12

Yesterday Jacob sang in the church choir for the first time. His group is called The Cherubs and it is made up of 3-5 year olds (pre-k). They sang two songs: "God So Loved The World" (to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot") and "If You're Saved and You Know It" (to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It") While it wasn't perfect, Jacob still did a great job singing. We just need to work on him staying where he's supposed to stay. I think putting him on the end was not a great idea -- he wanders. And he completely sat down during the second performance (they sang at both the 9.15 and the 10.45 services) But either way, I was proud of him! I look forward to the many more performances he'll have.
