Jordan at 15 Months
Weight: He goes to the doctor on Wednesday for his check-up so I will know then
Height: He goes to the doctor on Wednesday for his check-up so I will know then
Size: He wears mostly 12 month clothes. He still fits in some 9 months and can fit into some 18 months.
Favorite Food: almost everything! Except for spicy foods. He also still nurses - 15+ months was my goal when he was born so I'm happy that we reached it together!
Words: "ball" "mama" "woof" "bubble" "eat" "light" He also says "thh" to anything he's pointing to. NEW: "more" "that" "yeah"
New Accomplishments: a few new words, he can twist a top on and off a bottle, can play peek-a-boo
What We Did This Month: celebrated Jacob's 3rd birthday, played in the snow for the first {and only!} time, saw Santa, celebrated Christmas four times, saw Uncle Buddy and celebrated his birthday early, saw Auntie Sarah and Uncle Bill for Christmas
Likes: balls, mama milk, being held, the Christmas tree, the Santa balls and phone booth ornaments, climbing on everything, going down the slide, being thrown, pretending to drop him, hitting, splashing in the bath, playing in the dog's dishes, rocking on his horse, his block, eating, being chased, playing peek-a-boo, looking at books, throwing books off the shelf, playing with cell phones
Dislikes: spicy food, brushing his teeth, diaper changes, baby gates, his big brother, having things taken from him
Random Fact: If you ask him what's in his mouth and hold out your hand, he will take whatever is in there {and there usually is something in there!} and give it to you. If it's a rare occasion that he doesn't have something in there, he will pretend he's taking something out of his mouth and hand it to you, too.

Cherish The Moments
I pulled my frames out of boxes today as the Christmas decorations came down. And when I took Jacob's two year pictures from the frame to replace them with his three year pictures, I took a moment to look at them. Awww, he was SO little! I thought to myself.
It's just another reminder at how quickly time passes. So I am making it a goal to remember to cherish every moment, even the ones where I want to pull out my hair and just scream. Because before I know it, the boys will be off to college and out on their own and I'll be left wondering where the time went and longing for the days of "don't hit your brother" and "do you need to go to time out?," where their whining and screaming would be enough to send me over the edge.
The moments are fleeting. Another whole year has passed. Let's make the most of the time we have.

Five Question Friday 12/30/11
1. What's the oldest piece of clothing in your closet?
I have a dress from *cough* middle school *cough* that I think someday I might wear again. Yeah.
2. How many random blog readers have you met?
none
3. Do you let your kids stay up till midnight on New Years Eve? (Or, if you don't have kiddos yet, did you get to stay up until midnight as a child?)
No. Maybe when they are a little older I will. Half the time I don't even stay up until midnight. I just find it to be a rather pointless holiday. It'll still be 2012 when I wake up, might as well get some sleep :-)
4. What are the gas prices where you live?
I just filled up last night and it was $3.49
5. What is one resolution that you know you should do but are too afraid to try?
I don't think I am too afraid to try any resolutions, it's more just a lack of motivation.... lose some weight (10lbs to be exact), drink more water, floss again, organize the basement, and many more!

Slimming Down In The New Year
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Slim-Fast. All opinions are 100% mine.
The new year is quickly approaching and with it come the resolutions. Every year we promise ourselves we will eat better, exercise more, and lose weight. We promise to get organized, to stop procrastinating, to volunteer more, and be distracted less.
I no longer make resolutions because I don't keep them. But I do make goals. Some of my goals for this year are the usual - drink more water and eat healthier. I want to set a better example for my children. Some of my other goals are to tackle our basement, which needs some SERIOUS organization, and to start flossing again. I can't remember why I stopped in the first place but it's been a few months (eww) since I've done it.
The most popular new years resolution is of course to lose weight. And Slim-Fast is making it easy on us with their 3-2-1 plan. It includes 3 healthy, nourishing snacks, 2 shakes or meal bars, and 1 balanced 500-calorie meal each day. Easy enough, right? Not only that but they have introduced some new and delicious flavors of their shakes. Their flavors include: creamy milk chocolate, french vanilla, rich chocolate royale, cappuccino delight, and strawberries n' cream. I have and probably always will be a chocolate girl but the strawberry shake also sounds wonderful to me. And for all those coffee drinkers -- replacing your coffee with a cappuccino delight Slim-Fast shake would be an easy way to reach your new years resolutions!
Will you join in my weight loss goals in the coming year? I have 10 lbs to lose and I know with Slim-Fast I will be able to reach my goal. Be sure to "like" Slim-Fast on facebook to keep up to date with their latest products and weight loss tips! Slim-Fast products are available in the pharmacy department of many grocers such as Meijer, Walmart, Target, and Krogers.

Advent Calendar Fun
This year was the first year we really did our Advent Calendar with Jacob. We have a beautiful Advent Calendar from Restoration Hardware that my parents gave us for Christmas one year. Each door is just big enough to fit a little special surprise. I filled the calendar with mostly candy (Trick-or-treating leftovers!..... cheap? or genius? I think the latter!) I also opened a package of Matchbox Cars that Matt had purchased for Jacob's stocking and put those in a few of the days for something different. And added a few "gummy snacks" (fruit snacks - one of his favorites!) and suckers.
In true Emily Fashion, I made Jacob take a picture each day after he opened his door. What fun to look back at! We really had fun doing this, although towards the end of the month we kept forgetting to open doors so there were several days he got to open two at once. And just today he got to open the last four doors! We've been neglectful! Next year we plan to include Jordan in on on the fun as well and alternate days (Jake will get to open on odd numbered days and Jordan on even numbered days -- I decided this based on their birth dates - Jake's is odd and Jordan's is even. Both boys will get something on Christmas.)

Proud Mama Monday 12/19/11
We were headed to Target the other day and turned left at one of the intersections. From the backseat Jake says "Why did you just turn left?" How did he know that?? Then, we decided to test him. As we turned into Target we asked what way we were turning. "Right," he said. Correct again! Either he's an excellent guesser and/or that was a coincidence, or that kid is smarter than we realized!
