World Breastfeeding Week: Bamboobies Review {&} Giveaway

I've been in love with reusable nursing pads since I first discovered them. Not only are they a more eco-friendly solution to leaking but they are far more comfortable than the plasticy, hot, and dare I say awful disposable pads. Not to mention, they are cute!

When I first heard of Bamboobies I was intrigued with them - mostly because of their unique shape. Bamboobies are heart-shaped to help cup the breast, instead of the typical round breast pads which can bubble up. When I first received them, however, I was very skeptical. They were thinner than any other reusable nursing pad I ever tried. I didn't think they would hold much. But they were so soft I wanted to make a blanket out of them! It's been said that Bamboobies are "like a cashmere sweater for my boobs" and that is very true. They are so soft and comfortable, you don't even realize you are wearing anything. The thinness of them as well as their unique heart shape makes them practically invisible under your shirt. The regular Bamboobies pads come in black, pale pink, or hot pink.

Since I'm no longer leaking, I had to test them out by the tried and true sink method. I ran water over the pads. As you can see from the picture below, there was quite a good amount of water pooled on the top of the pad, yet I couldn't feel it on my hand underneath. I held the water on there for several minutes and it never leaked through to the other side. After pouring the water off the top of them, they felt almost dry proving that even with leaking, they will still make you feel dry.

I really love these nursing pads. I love how comfortable they are and how soft they are. But most importantly, I love how well they hold up against leaks. I would definitely recommend these to all breastfeeding mothers. And remember, they also make great gifts!

Bamboobies come in regular and overnight. They also make a cute nursing cover as well. Check out buybamboobies.com to see all they have to offer and to pick up a pair or two for yourself! Be sure to enter code LNB20 for 20% of your order - good for two weeks!

  11. I made a few pairs of nursing pads. The absorbency was good but they were not thick enough for nighttime and they weren't as discreet as I would have expected.

  12. I would use it on Regular Bamboobies. I've heard such great things about them and somehow between babies #1 & #2, I lost some of my reusable nursing pads.

  13. I've used several types of reusable nursing pads including some very basic cotton ones, wool (they bunched up and showed through my clothes), and Bravado brand pads.
